6 Step Process

Coaching Focus

1. Discovery

Create awareness through exploration and discovery. Utilize appropriate assessment tools to collect objective data. Understand client opportunities, challenges, and perspectives. Share feedback from surveys and assessments.

2. Agreement

Work with the client to establish goals and identify leadership competencies and behaviors that will improve leadership effectiveness.

3. Action

Energize client to execute development plan with coaching support. The emphasis is on integrating opportunities to practice new skills and behaviors. The coach will focus on variety, diversity, intensity, and adversity to accelerate growth.

4. Build

Build on successes, learn from challenges. Coaching is designed to increase learning around practical application and hands-on experience. Assist client to understand the impact of their actions, desirable or undesirable. Competence is driven by experience and learning agility.

5. Blend

Hardwire newly mastered competencies into leadership style for permanent behavior change. Work with client to create a development plan for sustained success at the end of the coaching engagement.

6. Measurement & Results

Review outcomes based on established goals. Discuss lessons learned and the impact of coaching. Conclude engagement with appropriate stakeholders. Hand-off the development process to internal support system.
