Emotional Intelligence (EI)

Research indicates that Emotional Intelligence or EI is the strongest indicator of leadership success. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to recognize our own feelings and those of others, and to manage emotions effectively in ourselves and our relationships. While IQ and technical skills are important, without high EI skills, a leader’s performance will fall short of their full potential. Here is an overview of the Emotional & Social Leadership Competencies developed by Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis.
